Let’s get to know each other a little better

We’re not going to sugar coat it. At ZURB we move fast and sometimes that can come off as intimidating. ZURBians are determined and are always learning, wheather from a failure or a new skill. We don’t “just do work.” The work that we do matters to the people we help. In all cases their success depends on our collaborations. We change lives. Plus, creating impactful experiences for users feels pretty awesome too. We get pumped when we learn new techniques, trends and when everyone is set to beast mode amazing things start to happen! Plus, we love giving high-fives!

And we keep it real. ZURBians aren’t born this way — we’re a learning company. Learning isn’t easy and anything worth doing shouldn’t be. We will make mistakes, drop the ball and fail. But that’s how we learn, being “safe” with our thinking is risky. Sometimes we’ll need to put the time into trying a bunch of things that don’t work because we don’t have the knowledge. We’re exploring new worlds.

    You're inquisitive, curious, and love technology. You may be a customer service person looking for the next step in solving problems. Or maybe you're a marketing person who is more interested in solving company problems. You're driven to improve yourself, hungry to learn new things, and craving challenges to tackle. You're a highly empathetic person and really interested in understanding how things work.

    Who we are

    We're a small team of driven product designers who believe in rapid prototyping, multi-device design and teaching people how to design. We've been around since 1998, creating world-class products that hundreds of millions of people actually use. We believe Design, with a capital "D", can change the world, and we ensure it does. We need your help to build better products that solve problems and meet our customers needs.

    Your Day Will Look Like

    You will engage with the ZURB team and our clients often. A typical day may consist of working with our designers to align on what we want to know about users or our customers. You will actively participate in client calls throughout the week and support design directions within our projects using Helio. You're constantly challenging yourself to deliver the most accurate, relevant, and impactful user findings possible. Being wrong and and being outside of your comfort zone doesn't bother you because you're an extravert.

    What you bring to the table

    As a Customer Advocate, we'd like you to have the following experience

    • Very strong communication skills

    • Computer literate, well versed in Google Docs
    • Ability to clearly express yourself both in person and on paper
    • Working with and supporting multiple teams simultaneously
    • 3+ years of experience in customer advocacy, customer experience or marketing
    • 1-2+ years of experience working in a technology or startup setting

    Other skills we're looking for

    • Natural sense of curiosity and an affinity for accuracy
    • Very strong writing skills and strong vocabulary
    • Passion for understanding problems quickly
    • Extremely organized and comfortable with citing sources
    • Love technology
    • An extravert!

    ZURB is a close-knit product design team based in Campbell, CA. We've been around since 1998, have helped more than 250 startups design some kick-ass online products and created many of our own products. Our customers range from large, well-known companies (Netflix, eBay, Samsung, Mozilla, Foundation Medicine, and MobileIron) to start-ups such as (Docker & TalentSky). They all came to us because of our reputation for delivering killer ideas that work.
