Below: Q&A with Galen King, Founder and Creative Director of Lucid Design — a New Zealand based design studio which just recently started using Notable to help them get stuff done.
How are you changing the world over at Lucid Design?Lucid Design is a small design studio with a focus on beautiful, elegant design for web and print. We work with a lot of small businesses and take huge pride in our work and care a lot about the businesses we work for. We try to get a good understanding of the business, how it works, what their vision is for the future and how they plan to move forward so we can best help them achieve what they need with a budget that is sustainable for them while giving us the room we need to do great work. What is the pain point that Notable helps you with?
We use a number of systems for collaboration such as 37Signals' Basecamp and Campfire as well as verbal communications and face-to-face meetings. We've been finding, however, that none of these work that well for giving clear, concise commentary on web design worka''both existing sites needing changes and new site mockups. Notable is really game-changing and in addition to the ability to mark up and comment on screenshots, I love the SEO stuff. It provides some great insight and last-minute checks when launching a new site. Truly brilliant. How can people find out more about Lucid Design or contact you?
We are currently rebuilding our website which contains a reasonably extensive portfolio of our work as well as info on what we do. I personally use Twitter a lot (@galenking) and we are also exploring ways that we can use it more as a team (@luciddesign). It's such a fantastic medium for networking locally, around New Zealand and around the world. Anything else you'd like to add?
Keep up the great work. You guys rock! And, if you ever take a trip down under, drop us a linea''oh, no, we're not part of Australia by the way.
