Some new photo filter hotness in CSS.Photo filters are all the latest rage (Facebook's got $1 billion betting on it with Instagram), and now it's coming to a browser near you! We stumbled upon this pretty cool article on webkit-filters and we gotta admit, it's pretty powerful. Long gone will be the days of going into Photoshop to saturate a photo or finding some jQuery plugin to make grayscale photos on the page. That'll be done in CSS, and we're stoked!
We've found lots of usefulness in using CSS3 gradients and drop-shadows to enhance our designs, so these filters are no different. Photo too dull? There's a filter for that. Want a hover to remain black and white until you hover on it? There's a filter for that.
The possibilities are endless, and that's what makes this so exciting. Of course, with great powers comes great responsibility, but we'll trust that people who actually do use them have an eye for what makes a great photo.
