Why did we create Chop?
Giving quick, one-off feedback on code is a pain. Code review tools are complex, expensive, and hard to use. Often we just want to share a quick contextual note with someone who may not have access to the entire code base. Chop let's us add notes to a code snippet, and quickly share them.
How does it work?
Paste your code in and select which type it is.
Or capture the code from a live page.
Press the "Chop It" button and then add notes.
Share the URL.
That's all, there are no signups or any setup to bother with.
Why We Love This Tool
Often when reading code, we come across something that creates a strong, positive or negative, emotional response and we want to share that response right away. Maybe we find a line of pure crap, and we need to add our snarky remark and tweet it out right away. Or we can't figure out what the hell a certain function does in jQuery, we need some contextual notes wrapped in a URL so we can shoot it out on the jQuery IRC channel.
