We're not waiting until the New Year to unveil some of the changes we've been working on these past few weeks. Today, we pushed live a facelift to ZURBsoapbox, which further highlights the great insights from our past speakers, such as Twilio's Jeff Lawson, Airbnb's Joe Gebbia and the Winklevoss twins.
We also thought it was high-time the site got an update since it was the first page we ever built on Foundation when we released the open-source framework in 2011. Yeah, it's been awhile, especially considering that we're now in Foundation 3 and working on its next great iteration. So we figured it was time for a refresh.
And just in time for the new look, we have our first speaker for 2013 all lined up for you. So without further ado, the next person to get on his soapbox is ...
One Kings Lane CEO Doug Mack
Doug has been practicing his salesmanship since he was 12 when he worked for free at a local computer store in his hometown. He learned the value in studying closely every feature of the products he was selling. Which came in handy when One Kings Lane recruited the former Adobe exec to take the reins of the company.
Doug studied the online home furnishing retailer closely before taking the job, using the product to make purchases. He even delved into how the company handled customer service. That research came in handy when he actually took charge in 2010. Since then, he's spearheaded the company from $25 million in yearly sales to $200 million.
He's even snagged top talent from other companies, such as Amazon and Skype, to aid him in his efforts. Now One Kings Lane is putting more and more emphasis on meeting the demands of the mobile shopper.
On Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, One Kings Lane CEO Doug Mack will get on his soapbox to tell us the challenges faced in taking the company to the top and keeping it there.
